2 Year Pics

Leon and I took Bishop, his new tricycle, and some balloons to my parents pasture to take some 2 year pictures tonight. He had fun running around and playing so it worked out nice. I think they turned out pretty cute, considering I am no photographer. I'd love to be able to have 2 year pictures made by a professional, but these are just fine for me. I love the way he looks so happy and full of life...which he is ...most of the time!!

Happy Birthday Bishop!! I think he had a great day!

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

Bishop had a wonderful birthday party which I will post when I sort through the 100 or so pictures that were taken that day. He had a great time and I hope everyone else did too. I know I have said it before, but we really have the most amazing family and friends that I could ever ask for.  I had been planning so much for the party lately that I think I overlooked the real fact of the matter. I now have a 2 year old. Now I can't count his age in months. Well, I guess I COULD, but that might be weird. So last night I was looking through pictures on my camera and thinking of how lucky I am and how much fun we had had at his party and tears filled my eyes. Tears of joy and tears of sadness.

I love his innocence.

I love his smile.

I love his kisses. And his big hugs.

I love his laugh.

I love his curls.

I love his sense of humor.

I love the way he loves me.

I want him to always need me, always be my baby, and always love the way that I love him. I want him to love life and be thankful always. I want him to love God and know just how much God loves him. I want him to be a good person and know what really brings true joy and happiness to life.

Birthdays are fun. Birthdays are hard. And, as hard as it is to see my baby growing up into a little boy, it is absolutely the most fun, most amazing, most rewarding experience in my life. There is nothing like it.  There are hard days. A LOT of hard days. Things don't always go the way you think they should or the way you want them to, but I would not trade any of it for the world.

Happy birthday to you sweet child of mine!

And, you will always be my sweet baby James (whether you like it or not!).

Church Egg Hunt

Wednesday night the kids at church had an egg hunt. Bishop had a blast.  He left crying "I go to church..I go to church". Anytime we get dressed up he assumes we are going to church. It is precious. Although he isn't old enough to understand the true meaning of why we are there, I am so very thankful that church is a pleasant experience for him and that he is surrounded by people who will love and encourage him as he grows.

Might I add the Wednesday night teachers are brave...they started out dying eggs....with toddlers.

Then we all went outside to get a group picture. Under the circumstances, I did not get a very good one. You can imagine Porter Tapp on the left, the other half of Chase Chittom and Tapp Frazier, and Cohen Lott in a stroller on the right and I think that gets everyone.

Then, on to the big event..wonder if they can find any eggs?

Finding Eggs is serious!

Then it was snack time. Which, of course, turned out to be supper. A complete balanced meal of a cupcake, cheetos, juice, and a Peep.

Jackson is such a cutie!

Playing with tools with Will and Emma

The next few pictures are so funny to me. Gracen and Bishop go to daycare and church together so they are pretty close. They torture each other constantly. Gracen loves to chase Bishop down and tackle him. I love her little grin. She is so quiet but she is always smiling.

She snuck up behind him and tried to put bunny ears on him...

And, she thought it was hilarious and he took off running..

And, pretty much the rest of the evening was spent like this.......

And, repeat....

Happy Good Friday!

The Blues

Bishop loves the blues! It's the cutest thing ever. This video was a about a month ago on the way to granna's house. He usually dances too, but of course stops if I get out the camera!

This is the life....

My parents are in the process of remodeling my grandmother's house and will be moving in soon...they hope! While it is convenient for us to live only a few miles from the grocery store, the park, restaurants (although those are pretty limited!), and WALMART, sometimes I wish that we could move somewhere out in the country. Since that probably won't be happening, this is the next best thing. We have been out there several times and already I can see it is the perfect place for the boys (and girls if any of us ever have a girl!). There is tons of room to run and play. I spent a good bit of my childhood there and have so many happy memories there and it makes me happy for my children to have a "farm" to go to. Today we went out there to check out the progress of the new cabinets and carpet and had a picnic under a tree out in the pasture with granna. It was so nice out. We took a walk in the pasture to find the horses (a MUST for Bishop) and I was reminded of how much I love it there. It is just so beautiful and peaceful.

"Come on, let's go see the horses"

Blowing a dandelion....

It's the simple things in life.

And aren't those cheeks so kissable?
