A day in the park....

What a beautiful weekend it was! B man had a great time at the park....and so did mommy and daddy! We all needed a Saturday outside and no Saturday could have been better!

Have I mentioned how blessed we are?!?!

Ride a Little Horsey...

It is yet another family tradition of ours to have a picture made as a baby on one of Uncle Steve's horses. We never have gotten around to it...it has either been too hot, or too cold or something has been going on. Well, this past Sunday, it was the PERFECT day to ride (or take a picture of Bishop on) a horse. The other boys got to ride and everyone had a blast. It was Cole's first time on a horse as well, and I'm pretty sure he and Bishop will both be riding again soon! They both loved it! Jacob is really getting into riding horses, while I think Jonah would be just fine with the gator or his bicycle (that he can pretend is HIS horse), although I'm pretty sure he would never admit to it. I think Heather really had a good time riding the boys...and breaking in her new birthday boots! Everyone had such a great day (even the one without a nap!) and we were thankful to all be together and to get to enjoy this wonderful warm weather after such a COLD, COLD winter.

He looked like such a natural!

He loved sticking his finger in Bodie's nose...

Cole loved it too. He got off and said "that was awesome!"

Jonah on his "horse"

Side note: If you are wondering why the Uithoven boys have blue lips (and noses and cheeks and EARS), that is because they got stamps from Granna and Granddaddy for Valentine's day (I don't even think they knew they got them stamps) and decided to stamp their faces.... BOYS, what can you say?!!?!

TEN!!

My boy...not baby...is 10 months old. I say this over and over and over, but it is FLYING by. WAY. TO. FAST. I am seeing a little boy in him more and more each day and I honestly don't know if I could love him any more than I do right now. I would love for him to be a 10 month old forever! But, I know he can't, so I am trying to enjoy every little minute of his smiley little self.

10 things about my 10 month old....
  • Still crawls FAST and pulls up on EVERYTHING. Walks around the furniture and lets go for a while but thats as far as it goes. No steps. At all...which is totally fine be me! (I chase him enough as it is)
  • Still loves carbs..bread, cereal bars, cheese toast, puffs, cheerios, Subway bread, pizza crust. He prefers his veggies from the jar. He did eat some potatoes and carrots from a roast today, which is a huge improvement. Basically, he will eat it if it is off of MY plate, just not on HIS (that is, unless it is one of the aforementioned favorite foods). No avacodos or bananas tho!
  • LOVES BOOKS...he "reads" all of the time. Loves to flip through pages on his own and loves to be read to. His favorite is his Quack, Quack book.....he immediately looks at and starts quacking. I'll have to share a video. He also loves Dr. Suess, The Very Hungry Caterpiller, any touch and feel book, and 5 Little Monkeys. I guess he's going to be a genious.
  • Still loves Sesame Street...Actually, TV in general, we just only have Sesame Street and Baby Einstein.
  • Jabbers non-stop and tries to immitate sounds or phrases. He sounds like he is having a conversation ALL. THE. TIME. He says momma, uh oh, bye-bye, and he gives kisses. Love those kisses!
  • LOVES Abby. Probably more than me or Leon. He looks at her and gets so excited...and barks.
  • Has never cried after me. This is a good thing, don't get me wrong, but SOMETIMES, just sometimes, I would like him to want his momma!  His doctor said he would probably experience some separation anxiety around 9 months and want momma all of the time. Nope, not this guy. I sit him in the nursery at church and he's like "see ya later". ONCE he sort of fussed when I was leaving Granna's and he started toward me but quickly got distracted by a toy. UGH. Like I said, this is a good thing and I know that!
  • Likes me to sing...even if noone else on the planet does.
  • Still only has 2 little shiney (sharp) teeth.
  • Has a smile that can make anyone's day. He smiles at everything and everyone. I still can take this kid anywhere and know that he is going to smile the second someone talks to him. It makes my day EVERY day.
  • Sesame Street is SO funny!!
    Aren't those cheeks so kissable!?!
We even got to go outside and swing since it was almost 70 degrees...yes, it snowed 5 inches last week. Gotta love MS!! Oh, and his outfit is recycled from one he wore back in October..I just sewed some blue on the bottom to make it long enough. Tall skinny boy!

Dougie

Bishop has never wanted a paci, even when I tried. And tried...and tried. There was about a month maybe that he would take one, but not much even then. Last fall when we were in Florida, we found this Douglas frog that we named Dougie. He is now Bishop's best friend (besides Abby). He loves him! Poor Dougie gets chewed all over. B man chews on his feet to go to sleep. I guess he doesn't HAVE to have him...but it sure makes life easier. It's kinda nice having a piece of home no matter where we go too.

Valentines Day

Bishop got several happies for his first Vday. He is one loved little guy!

 And look what momma got......
I am SOOOO excited!

I have wanted to do this for years, but actually had forgotten about it since I am so busy with the little guy. I was shocked that Leon remembered. It is my birthday present as well....or I would have felt pretty bad giving him a DVD and some Reeces (which I ate half of)!

Still here!

Don't really have much interesting going on besides work and being stuck inside due to the weather. UGH! I am SOOO ready for spring!

We did have our 9 month checkup last week and everything looked good! We did have to have our first antibiotic because he had a cold long enough to cause his ear to be red. It was "pink and cloudy and would have been miserable if we had not been at the doctor to start antibiotics". Thank goodness it wasn't bad! He is kind of a small fry, 19 lbs 13 oz..only in the 35% for weight this time. This, of course, freaked me out since he is 95%  (31.5 in) for his height. She assured me (over and over....and over!) that he was fine! Just tall and slim!

I haven't downloaded any recent pictures onto my computer yet, so I'll have to share a pic from my phone tha is not the best....but I think you get the idea that he was feeling better.....
