The Blues

Bishop loves the blues! It's the cutest thing ever. This video was a about a month ago on the way to granna's house. He usually dances too, but of course stops if I get out the camera!

This is the life....

My parents are in the process of remodeling my grandmother's house and will be moving in soon...they hope! While it is convenient for us to live only a few miles from the grocery store, the park, restaurants (although those are pretty limited!), and WALMART, sometimes I wish that we could move somewhere out in the country. Since that probably won't be happening, this is the next best thing. We have been out there several times and already I can see it is the perfect place for the boys (and girls if any of us ever have a girl!). There is tons of room to run and play. I spent a good bit of my childhood there and have so many happy memories there and it makes me happy for my children to have a "farm" to go to. Today we went out there to check out the progress of the new cabinets and carpet and had a picnic under a tree out in the pasture with granna. It was so nice out. We took a walk in the pasture to find the horses (a MUST for Bishop) and I was reminded of how much I love it there. It is just so beautiful and peaceful.

"Come on, let's go see the horses"

It's the simple things in life.

And aren't those cheeks so kissable?

Buffalo Park

As a last minute decision, JJ, Brandi, and I decided to take the boys to the Buffalo Park today. It is rare that we all 3 are off on the same day and especially rare that it is on a pretty day like today. I had never been before so I didn't know what to expect. It was actually really fun! And perfect for the kids!  Of course, their favorite part was probably playing on the playground so we could've saved money by just doing that! But they really did like it. I will admit that I am not a huge fan of the caged animal part...it is not quite as nice as a zoo where they are in a simulated natural habitat at least. However, most of them seemed happy and were VERY eager for us to feed them. The park was the perfect size for the boys to enjoy.

The first thing we did was ride a trolly out to see/feed the buffalo. We also saw zebras, cows, horses and donkeys. The animals come right up to you which was neat.

After the trolly ride, we walked around and looked at all of the other animals they have in the "zoo". They have tortoises, a lion, an alligator, monkeys, birds, snakes, kangaroos, giraffes, and all kinds of farm animals. I thought on the way that Bishop might be disappointed because the whole way there he named of several animals that I knew he wasn't going to see like seals and elephants (his favorites at the zoo) but he was perfectly happy without them.

Another neat thing about the park is that you can feed the giraffes right out of your hand! Bishop only halfway liked it. But he loved petting them. It was kinda gross to me anyway. And, did you know giraffes have a very strong tongue? Well, we know this now. I was trying to open the bag up to pour some out for him and he literally took the whole bag. I tried to get it back but it was a goner! He ate our whole bag of food...bag and all!

Like I said the playground was the favorite for the boys. Bishop is a little more afraid of sliding and swinging than Carsten or Harvey, but he made it just fine crawling through tunnels, climbing, and "driving" the cars. He absolutely loves the park!

And MY favorite part was the picnic under the pavilion. We brought everything under the sun to eat..sandwiches, watermelon, grapes, chips, goldfish, yogurt, chocolate. I'm a sucker for a picnic! It was SO nice in the shade too. And, I finally had a chance to talk to the other mommas :)

"CHEESE"

What a fun spring day! So glad I got to spent it with these cute boys and their mommas!

Mud

I have mentioned it before, but I think it is worth mentioning again that my child is all boy. He may not be the biggest daredevil I know (thank goodness) but he loves trucks, dinosaurs, and dirt. Especially dirt. And especially mud. He literally would spend all day every day outside if I would allow it. We are loving the spring days and the longer afternoons. It makes working on a Saturday not so bad when you get to come home and play in the mud with this little boy until dark.

I think the Happy Camper shirt may be a goner after today. It was worth it though!

Love my dirty little boy!

23 months

Crazy I am about to have a 2 year old!

I do know what they mean by terrible twos though. I've actually known that for a while!

He is funnier and sweeter now than ever. It goes along with the package I guess.

Girlie things

I got to make some little girl birthday gifts lately and sewing for girls is different than sewing for boys. It is extremely overwhelming in all of the fabric/pattern choices..I am used to jon jons, shorts, or pants and gingham, solid, or stripes! But I must say...ruffles are kinda fun!

Apron for Claire to go with her slice and bake cookie set
Outfit for Avery

I got to make

Great Weekend

The weekend was fabulous! It was perfect weather and we got to spend it with some of our favorite people. We got to eat some delicious food too! I'm not sure who enjoyed the weekend more...us or Bishop!

Friday we got in late to Kozy but that didn't stop the boys from playing..they were SO excited to see each other. It is so awesome that they play so well together. I'm not sure what we'd do if they didn't!

Saturday morning we went to the St. Patty's day kids parade and festival. I'll just say that it did not live up to my expectations. At least not for Bishop's age. He was too small for most of the games and rides and I had expected a bigger "parade" than kids walking in a circle.  He did get to see some snakes and turtles so he was a happy boy. And we got to see a bunch of drunk people dressed in green at 10:00 in the morning at we passed by the parade route to get to the kiddie part (since we had no idea where to park or where we were going). That was interesting!  Nonethless, it was a beautiful day so I don't know how it couldn't be enjoyed!

Then I got to go to Target! Thank you Leon for being such a fabulous husband and driving around for an hour and a half so I could shop while Bishop slept.

Then it was on to Avery's birthday party. Bishop is still not a big daredevil when it comes to sliding, but that is just fine by me. He does like to jump in the bouncy part.  But, he would prefer to dig in the dirt honestly. I guess that makes it a little cheaper on me! We won't be renting one for his birthday just yet but he had a great time...even if he had to be pushed down the slide :)

Then the rest of the weekend was spend with our BFF's. Watching the boys play is about the funniest and most precious things ever. They are so funny. I usually have no idea what they are talking about but they seem to know. They rarely fight which makes things a lot easier for us. They have a moment here and there which is to be expected out of 2 year olds, but nothing major. We even got to play with sweet Hill (or Will as Bishop re-named him) Saturday night.

We were all sad to leave...but only 1 month until we see them again!

iPhone

Don't you just love the iPhone? There are so many times that I can't take my camera...or I forget my camera...or I forget memory card...or I forgot to charge the battery. You get the idea, right? Most of the time I never even do anything with the pics but I thought I would post some...seems like the thing to do.

He loves to go look at uncle Steve's horses every time we go to Granna's. He acts like he wants to ride the horses, but I think he loves the idea more than anything. He would probably freak out if you tried to get him to actually ride it.

He has the idea that he wants to "Ride horse" at the mall also. It never happens. What he means is "I want to ride BEHIND the horses in the sleigh, not actually ON the horse." And, that is fine by me. No need to be a daredevil.
Not much this kid likes more than cookies!
Please do not call the authorities...he only "drove daddy's truck" a few feet. But he loved it! And, I'm pretty sure his daddy did too.

Having a picnic in the park with daddy

Dinosaurs, dinosaurs, dinosaurs! They are everywhere in my house. He loves them. LOVES them! Thanks Aunt Heather!

He loves brushing his teeth almost as much as cookies...but not quite.

I forgot his hat....he wanted to ride "tractor"...it was cold...and he had an ear infection. So we improvised. And, I love my little romanian.

Waiting on daddy to build a fire
Loves the park! Who doesn't?
I used to ride these when I was little!
(they are kinda scary looking!)

Entertaining himself while waiting for our Saturday morning pancakes.
Oatmeal with mommy on the back porch.
