Todays Events

Today was fabulous. It was beautiful out and I got to be home with my baby boy. What more could a girl ask for? We have been starved for some sunshine around here lately! We didn't get out since we STILL have a cold, a cough, and an ear infection, but we made the most of our day inside. We played...A LOT, we read books, we took picutres, we watched Sesame Street, and then played some more.  While he napped I was able to sew him an outfit for spring. He has plenty of clothes for the rest of winter and spring clothes are just so much fun! I was FINALLY able to make a [very, very] quick trip yesterday to my FAVORITE store...Heirlooms Forever. I wanted one of everything. However, I can't afford one of everything, so this is what I came home with.....

All cut out and ready to sew

Voile!!!

I just couldn't wait to model him in it.
He looked so stinking cute! (And, I sure hope it still fits this spring!) It may be a bit "girly", but I only have a few SHORT years to dress him how I want, and I take full advantage!

As I was sewing and Bishop was snoozing, the tree guy came to take down our dead tree in the front yard, it was kinda fun stalking watching him!

Leon is going to be splitting wood for weeks....Bonfire at the Hays's!!

Now, back to the real world...WORK tomorrow!

The Sweetest Sound

I think I finally (maybe) figured out how to upload a video. It is not the best quality, and obviously I am not very technological, but I had to share it anyway. It makes my heart melt! I'm not sure if he knows what it means exactly, but I'll take it anyway! Isn't he precious?!?!

Doce Pesos

What can you get for a dollar these days? Not much! I asked Leon and he said "floss". FLOSS? Random. Anyway, I couldn't find floss online for one dollar for reference, but I am sure they make it. Who buys floss online though? Anyway, I bought this blue tshirt on sale for $1 and had some leftover fabric from the jon jon I made at Christmas, so basically I spent ONE DOLLAR on the whole outfit. I don't LOVE the pattern for pants that I had. However, due to snow and illness, I have been homebound for like a month (aside from work), so it was the best I could do with what I had. I was proud either way.. I am a dork, I know!

Lately....

Our kitchen counter looks like this. After nine months of not having to EVER use the snot sucker....we are making up for lost time. Bishop is not a fan. I am not a fan. It is torture for us both, but it must be done...SEVERAL times a day. To top that off, his eye has been watering for a week and he is getting a little bit of a cough. We are so lucky to have gone this long without any illness....and we are SOO ready for it to go away! I was sick last week as well, and now I think I'm re-infected and Leon is starting to feel a bit under the weather himself! IS IT NOT SPRING YET!!!???! Ugh, I'm so ready!

NINE

I swear it just seems like I JUST posted about my 8 month old! Time just seems to go faster and faster! He is developing such the personality. I love this little boy to pieces!

Here are 9 things about my 9 month old:
  • Crawls at lightning speed and is into EVERYTHING. You can't take your eyes off of him for even a second!
  • Favorite toys are still bowls in the kitchen cabinets. LOVES the dishwasher and refrigerator.
  • HATES sitting still to change his clothes or diaper.
  • Stands without holding on to anything for a few seconds....and looks so proud when he does.
  • Dances, gives a kiss (an extremely slobbery kiss!),  waves bye-bye (when he wants), shakes his head "no" when you say no (also randomly does it when he is tired?), says "uh-oh", and attempts to immitate words, although most things come out sounding like "ba ba  or da da " (he tries)
  • Is very attached to Dougie...his furry (and gross) frog that he chews on to go to sleep.
  • Loves Sesame Street (almost as much as Mommy). I hate to put him in front of a tv, but it is nice every now and then to be able to get stuff done...(see first bullet!)
  • Loves to read books...we read every night and he fusses to read more almost every night. The only time he will be still is to read...or watch Sesame Street.
  • Is eating more foods and wants to eat everything that I am eating. However, he would live on breastmilk, cheerios, puffs, yogurt, and ritz crackers if I would allow it.

He's a bit under the weather, so this is as good I can get!

Harvey's Birthday

We went to Kosciusko a few weeks ago for our best friend Harvey's birthday party. We were sad because we didn't actually get to stay for the party because of the weather, but we got to spend the weekend with the Warrington's and play with Harvey all day on Saturday so that made us happy. Harvey had been under the weather with an ear infection the week before, but was feeling much better for his birthday!. We mostly got ready for the party all weekend.....which is right up my ally! If I could have any job in the world, it would probably be a party planner (but I better stick with one that pays the bills for now!!)

Bishop and Harvey, modeling his birthday I made him before his bubble party.

The birthday hat I made...easier said than done!

They are working hard on something!

We love you Harvey Allen Warrington, III!!
Happy Birthday....and maybe next year, we can actually STAY for the party :)

New Years 2011

We had a blast this past New Years Eve in Starkville with some of our best friends....playing darts, waiting out tornados, staying up WAAAAAY past my bedtime, playing RUMIKUB (best game EVER), watching football (go DAWGS!), being lazy, and eating some yummy food. Thanks Josh, Maggie, and Rocket for a fabulous New Years weekend!

Hmm?

Reflections and Resolutions

I'm not one for New Years resolutions usually, but I think it is a good time to look at where you have been, where you are, and where you are going. If you have read any of my blog at all, you know that I'm pretty satisfied with 2010. There are always things that could use imrovement, of course. Number one, I need to improve on organization and time management. Also, I am trying to not take things for granted and be happy with my life as it is NOW, and not just what it COULD be. I think I'm pretty decent at it for the most part, but sometimes Leon says I'm a "dreamer". So what? In my fantasy land, I would be a stay at home mom, with the laundry always done, the house always cleaned, kitchen stocked with everything we need, and everything in its place ALL THE TIME. But since that isn't going to happen right now, I am trying to be happy with the sweet job I have and all of the time I get at home with my little man!

Goodbye, 2010, you were a GREAT year!!!

Snow Day!!!

So, this is out  of order but I just could not wait to post from our snow day. See, in MS, we don't get snow as I said in a few posts ago.  We get excited over any amount of  snowflakes whether there is accumulation or not. You never know what you are going to get around here though...last weekend it was tornados. Go figure. Anyway, after waiting patiently all day for the snow to start, we finally saw some around 7 last night. We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning! It was breathtaking! I went a bit overboard (as usual!) and took over 100 pictures. I seriously wish that we owned ski's. That would have been a sight to see...no doubt Leon would have at least tried!

Here is what all we did on this fabulous day...

Leon started by shoveling his way out to go to work....

Then, Leon came home and I made us this wonderful (and RICH) hot cocoa....

We went sledding....

(with the top to a plastic tub!)

Leon threw snowballs to Abby...

Leon threw snowballs at to me..

We took pictures of the things I love...

We stayed in our PJ's ALL day long..and watched some Sesame Street.

Then I made this soup (which I highly recommend...easy and yummy!), watched this game, and made some snowcream. (also yummy!)

Oh, and probably gained 10 lbs! I even cleaned out a closet, washed clothes, blogged, and made Bishop a iron-on for a t-shirt. Can we say productive?!?

Can I press rewind and do it all over again, please?
