3 months

  • He is such a good baby and he rarely cries unless he is hungry.
  • Has been recently waking up during the night hungry…growth spurt? Habit? I don't really know yet but seems like Bishop did the same thing at this age.
  • He becomes more of a little person everyday. He is so funny and we all are in love.
  • He LOVES his play gym. He and Bishop both have talked to that thing for hours and hours.
  • He has a bit of eczema and cradle cap which I am trying to combat with hours of googling/pinteresting. So far it has helped…we do coconut oil on his head and comb out the flakes (kind of gross!) and I use Cetaphil bar to clean him and Cetaphil cream several times a day. And, occasionally I have to use a steroid cream.
  • He has a split personality…you lay him on his back and he talks, laughs and squeals but as soon as you sit him up he is "serious Ben" who never cracks a smile. The picture above is the closest I have gotten to a sitting up smile :)
  • Still seriously HATES tummy time, so I can't see him rolling over any time soon. But honestly, I'm ok with him taking things more slowly than Bishop did!

I did it!

I know that I will never be able to be a stay at home mom. I have accepted that fact. I guess I won't use the word NEVER because you really never know what life has ahead of you. Right? But, for right now, I just can't do it.  However, I have decided to do the next best thing...working part time 2 days a week! I do love my job and I won't pretend I don't enjoy getting out and seeing adults occasionally. Aside from the fact I went to school 8 years for my career.  But when you put your all into your job...like I always have done and always will do...there is not a whole lot left of you at the end of the day. I felt like my family was becoming second and I never want that. It wasn't an easy decision...or I would have done it long ago!

I do know that this time in my life is something that no amount of money could ever buy. So, while we may not have the extra money for the things we may want (but don't really need anyway), I have faith that God will provide the things we truly need so that I can stay home more. I hope to use this time to spend with my two boys and stay a little more organized. Even though it is a little bit scary.

Harvey is FOUR

In a mad rush after AK's party, we headed to Kosciusko for Harvey's party. This was the first time I hadn't helped her with the party and I was sad. It was also the first time I had been to Harvey's party not completely exhausted from staying up all night getting ready for the party ;) She did a great job on everything, as I knew she would. It's hard to believe Harvey is 4. That means my baby is almost 4 too. They aren't toddlers anymore, but instead little people FULL of personality. Harvey and Bishop have always played so well together and I am so happy about that. He absolutely can't wait to see him and they play for hours like big kids. It was a short trip this time, so we are going to have to plan something soon!

It was the cutest monster party ever!

He was not a fan of the blindfold. After he swung a few times, he kinda freaked out and started crying. He, however, was a fan of it once the candy came out!

Laurie made Harvey the cutest monster feet. He and Bishop had a blast chasing each other with them and the Sully mask.

Playing outside is their favorite thing to do...even in January! And Hazel is right in there with them :)

Ally Kate is ONE

How in the world did that happen?!!? I feel in one way like I was just sitting here editing her newborn pictures yesterday and in another way like she has been here always.

She had the cutest owl birthday party! We didn't actually get to stay long at the party because Harvey's party was the same day. But we did get to see sweet girl and bring her her present Leon made for her.

It turned out so cute. He is quite the woodworker these days.  It is a bit large for a one year old, but she will grow into it all too soon.

Happy Birthday sweet baby girl!

Hays Christmas

Leon and I were both off so we were able to stay for another extended weekend with the Hays's!

Christmas Day

Considering it is ridiculously frigid out and somehow BOTH my kids are asleep AND dinner is just about made,  I am getting caught up on most of my Christmas posts. Yay! And, it hasn't even been a month yet. Go me!

He was soooo very excited about Christmas and could not wait for Santa. He even thought MAYBE he had come the day before, even though I assured him that was not going to happen :)

Christmas Eve..Cookies, Milk, and a sweet picture he drew for Santa (Rudolph) next to a picture of him and Santa.

I kinda look like I've been run over by a truck, but I had to post because as you can see Bishop just took off to see what all Santa brought him

His dragon he asked for.

He was so sweet to show Ben everything he got!

My sweet, sweet boys

Santa did not forget our Abby :)

After pancakes and playing with new stuff we headed out to my moms for more food, family, and fun!

Sweet Ally Kate. Please notice Chris's awesome hamburger tshirt that Leon got for him last Christmas.

Kind of blurry, but he rarely smiles when he is sitting up. Couldn't you just eat him up?!

The lovely airbrushed tshirt that both of my brother in laws got for Leon. He is always getting them awful things. Payback :)

And, what is Christmas without a little magic. The magician and his assistant.

My sweet baby's first Christmas!
